This summer, South Derbyshire District Council is bringing a series of exciting, free family activity sessions to Hatton Playing Field (Scropton Road). These events are part of a wider programme of outdoor play and sport opportunities across the district — perfect for keeping children active and entertained over the holidays.
We’re lucky to have four fantastic sessions taking place right here in Hatton:
Big Fun Friday
Date: Friday 1st August 2025
Time: 1:00pm – 4:00pm
An afternoon packed with fun, games, sports and music. A festival-style event that’s perfect for the whole family. Expect a lively atmosphere with something for everyone to enjoy — no need to book, just turn up and join the fun!
Adventure and Sports Mobile
Date: Tuesday 5th August 2025
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Combines nature-based discovery activities with active games. Kids can explore the outdoors, take part in team sports, and try new activities in a safe, welcoming environment.
Play and Sports Mobile
Date: Wednesday 14th August 2025
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
A fun mix of creative play, traditional toys, and active sports sessions. There’s something for every child — whether they love crafts, ball games, or just running around!
Play and Adventure Mobile
Date: Wednesday 20th August 2025
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Blending imaginative play with nature-inspired activities, this session helps children explore, create, and move in equal measure.
What to Bring
Comfortable clothing and footwear
A drink/snack
Sun protection (fingers crossed for sunshine!)
All sessions are free, drop-in, and suitable for children aged around 4–12.Children must be accompanied by an adult.

If your child was registered last summer and you still have their unique reference number, you do not need to register again — these codes remain active.
Please note: All activities are weather dependent and may be cancelled in the event of poor weather. Check local updates on the day if in doubt.
