We’ve been informed by South Derbyshire District Council that starting 2nd October 2024, a team of canvassing officers will be conducting door-to-door visits as part of the annual Register of Electors canvass.
This process will involve visits to around 4000-5000 households across the district, continuing until mid-November. The purpose of these visits is to gather updated information on eligible voters and collect signed canvass forms.
These visits will take place between 09:00 and 19:00, including weekends.
What to Expect:
Canvassing Officers will have photo ID and carry South Derbyshire District Council (SDDC) branded document cases.
If anyone in the parish has concerns about whether the visitor is legitimate, please remember that all officers will be clearly identified as working for SDDC.
Supporting Vulnerable Residents:
We understand that some vulnerable members of our community may feel anxious about unexpected visits. If you know of anyone who may be concerned, please reassure them and direct them to the Council’s Electoral Services Team for more information. It's important that everyone knows this is a genuine, official campaign to update the electoral register.
